However, during the design process, these codes and manuals do not provide precise explanations for certain issues, and there is a discrepancy between the design methods and the actual stress mechanisms, which may result in overly conservative design outcomes. This paper will briefly explore these issues and, drawing on relevant research findings from both China and abroad as well as the latest international design codes, aims to identify a more rational design method for anchor bolts.

Anchor bolts are key components that connect the superstructure to the foundation, bearing the critical responsibility of transferring various loads. Proper design is the foundation for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the structure.

Common Design Specifications
Material Selection: Anchor bolts are typically manufactured from high-strength steel, such as Q235 or Q345. In corrosive environments, materials with good corrosion resistance should be selected, or anti-corrosion measures should be implemented.
1Diameter and Length: The diameter of the bolt should be determined based on the load to be borne, the type of foundation, and the connection method. Generally, the greater the load, the larger the diameter should be. The length of the bolts must ensure sufficient penetration into the foundation to provide reliable anchoring force.
